Using TradingView alerts as a master
TradingView sends each alert to your private webhook address, and your slaves copy it.
A TradingView account in LucianAlgo is a master with no broker behind it. Your alerts are the trades.
What you need on TradingView
- A paid TradingView plan (webhooks are not on the free plan).
- Two-factor authentication turned on.
Set it up
- In Add New Account, pick TradingView.
- Enter a name, a routing group and the account size your alert quantities are meant for, for example 10000.
- Click Create webhook. You see your webhook address and the alert messages.
- Click Save account. Nothing is added until you save, and the webhook only works after that.
- In TradingView, create an alert. Under Notifications, tick Webhook URL and paste the address.
- Paste one of our alert messages into the alert's Message box and create the alert.
Alert messages
The setup window gives you ready-made messages:
- Pine strategy: for alerts created on a strategy. The copier follows the strategy's position: entries, adds, part closes, reversals and going flat.
- Buy and Sell: for manual alerts. Set the quantity in lots and, if you want, a stop loss and take profit.
- Close: closes the trades this account opened on that symbol.
- Close all: closes every trade this account has open.
Settings
- Account size. Slaves that scale by equity compare their balance with this number.
- Only accept alerts from TradingView's servers. Leave this on. It rejects anything sent from elsewhere.
Keep the address private
Anyone with your webhook address can send trades to your slaves. If it leaks, click New URL and update your alerts with the new address. The old one stops working straight away.
Check it works
- Check a message lets you paste an alert message with example values and see what the copier would do. Nothing is traded.
- Received alerts lists each alert and what the copier did with it.
Routing group
Give the TradingView account a routing group of its own. No other master may use that group.
