Connecting MT5 and MT4 accounts

Enter the account number, the exact broker server name and the trading password. It then copies around the clock.

What you need

Account number (the login number).
Broker server, exactly as it appears on your MetaTrader sign-in screen, for example Exness-MT5Real or FTMO-Demo.
Trading password (the master password). The investor (read-only) password cannot place trades, so it will not work.

Where the account runs

You choose one of two options under Execution Engine.

Always on (recommended). We run the account for you. There is nothing to install, and copying carries on when your computer is off.

In my own MT5/MT4 terminal with the EA. The account stays in the MetaTrader on your computer and the LucianAlgo EA does the copying. Your MetaTrader must stay open. After you add the account you get a connection key and setup steps. See Connection keys.

After you save

The account shows Online within about a minute. A new account may take a little longer the first time while its trade history loads.

If it will not connect

Check the server name. It must match your broker's name exactly, including capital letters and dashes.
Check the password. Use the trading password, not the investor password.
Check the account is active. Expired demo accounts and failed challenge accounts cannot sign in.
Algo Trading off. If Execution Errors shows "Algo Trading off", your broker or the account does not allow automated trading. Ask your broker to enable it.
